Where does the Chlorine come from in a battery containing Lead and Sulphuric Acid? Hydrogen may not be toxic but it is not known for its life sustaining properties it is therefore an asphyxiant.

You may want to …
You may want to correct this video the two by-products of acid battery charging are: Hydrogen Gas and Chlorine Gas
Now Hydrogen gas is not toxic to humans but mixed with air it will burn/explode if there’s a ignition source
However the Chlorine Gas IS Toxic and will at low levels make you violently ill it will even kill you in high levels – acid batteries need a well ventilated box / room (extractor fan)
Acid in eyes need to be treated by an EYE Wash Kit (Pure water) for 15mins then seek help

it does not really …
it does not really matter 6 or 12 volt batteries. No matter what is chosen, you can still store equal amounts of power. I currently use 5 strings of two 12 volt batteries to provide 24 volt feed to my inverter. Higher voltage on the dc side means lower dc current to provide the same power, ergo less power loss and lighter wires, less heat on the dc side of the system.
