How solar energy can be produced at competitive cost for the welfare of people at large?Presently what is the status of its use in india?

I'm pretty sure its parallel but I'm not sure.
no difference, the power is the same.
In series they have a high voltage and low current, and in parallel low voltage and high current. Usual wiring is in series / parallel

If I mount a flat surface which points to certain constant direction. At certain place of the world. I now need to estimate the maximum amount of Solar radiation energy which this surface can get during certain time.
Is there a PC program or an algorithm that can make this estimate ...
